Practices in Slough have been successful with a bid to be part of the national pilot of Clinical Pharmacists working in GP Practices.
There is now the opportunity for six pharmacists to be employed in practices in Slough to support people to get the best out of there medicines and have access to another healthcare professional in their practice.
It is an exciting opportunity for Slough to be at the forefront of developing primary care.
The pharmacists will be able to help support people with medicines after discharge from hospital, people on many medications at once, people with long term conditions and people experiencing side-effects. They can also run minor ailment clinics and help practices to reduce wastage of medicines.
